Two things to do today to think Positively

Published on 16 September 2024 at 11:07

To start thinking positively today, do these two things:

1. List three things you're truly thankful for

Don’t choose things you’re not truly grateful for (your brain will know), real change comes from being real with yourself.

What are the things that you couldn’t imagine life without or the things that make you smile when you think about them?

They don’t have to be grand things, sometimes it really is the small things that make a difference!

I always think about how my cat and my daughter’s dog act like they don't like each other, one claws and the other barks but the next minute you’ll find them like this: (Pictured Right)

I’m grateful to see peaceful moments like this between them, amidst all the chaos and it makes me smile to think about.

2. List three things you admire about yourself

Are you hard-working, did you wake up at 3am to feed the baby, are you here today because you’re not a quitter? List those things, the things that really matter to you.
If you’re struggling to find things you truly admire in yourself, you can ask someone close to you what they admire in you and try to understand why they admire that specific thing in you.
Remember that you’re reading this because you have a drive to get better, to improve oneself, to be better today than you were yesterday, and I admire that in you.

By creating new thought patterns with positive acknowledgements and reminding yourself of your strengths and capabilities, you are creating new pathways in your brain. Over time, if you continue to do these two things you will automatically start thinking more positively without having to put a conscious effort in and you will have cultivated your own optimistic mindset.
